Understanding the Bigger Picture

A simple explanation of the outer-planet cycles and practical ways to prepare for a period of profound collective change, including a daily ritual to help you maintain a positive frame of mind.

Understanding the Great Transition

I’m Ev Zervoudakis, founder of Holistic Healing Astrology, and I’ve spent decades studying, teaching, and applying metaphysics; including astrology, to help people better understand themselves and the cycles of life.

Astrologically, we are entering a remarkable period in which the outer planets offer a powerful framework for exploring transformation, innovation, and changing spiritual perspectives. These long-term planetary relationships invite us to look beyond today’s headlines and consider the bigger picture.

How can we navigate this changing world without losing our peace, our faith, or our sense of purpose?

Here are three things to remember.

1. The Old and the New Can Exist Together

When powerful social systems are challenged, familiar structures may weaken while new ideas emerge. In astrology, Pluto symbolizes deep transformation, Uranus represents disruption and innovation, and Neptune dissolves the structures while challenging established beliefs.

Their ongoing relationships offer us a way to explore the themes of this transition. Change can feel uncomfortable, especially when we don’t know what comes next. Remember that the ending of an old chapter can also create space for something new.

Your takeaway: Stay open to new possibilities. Rather than automatically resisting change, ask yourself what you can learn from it and how you can adapt.

2. Expect Questions, Not Necessarily Immediate Answers

Rapid technological advances, shifting institutions, and changing cultural values can leave us feeling uncertain. We may encounter surprising revelations, conflicting information, and ideas that challenge what we once believed.

Instead of assuming every change signals disaster, look at what is actually happening. Question information, verify your sources, and give yourself permission not to have all the answers immediately.

Your takeaway: Focus on peace. You can remain informed without allowing every headline or prediction to dictate your mood. Discernment is essential during times of transition.  Only connect to the spirit of truth, avoid the mischievous and dark spirits please.

3. Prepare Yourself, Not Just Your Predictions

You cannot control every global event, but you can make thoughtful decisions about how you respond. Strengthen your relationships, develop practical skills, protect your financial resilience, and make time for spiritual reflection.  Always stay grounded by observing nature.

And here’s something important: your everyday environment and spiritual well-being deserve attention, too.

During times of transition, I encourage you to establish a simple daily ritual to help clear your space and create a more positive frame of mind.

Your Daily Ritual: Clear Your Space, Lift Your Spirit

Spiritual cleansing can be a meaningful way to mark a fresh start, release the tension of the day, and bring your attention back to the present moment. You don’t need elaborate equipment or a special setting. You can do this at home, in your office, or even when you’re away from home.

Try this simple sound-clearing practice:

  1. Clear your space with sound. Use a bell, tuning fork, singing bowl, or simply clap your hands. Move through your space with the intention of refreshing the atmosphere and letting go of stagnant feelings. If you’re away from home, a few gentle claps or a quiet hum will do.
  2. Hum for 17 seconds. That’s right—just 17 seconds! Take a comfortable breath and hum gently for as long as feels natural, repeating if needed. Notice how you feel afterward. Humming can encourage relaxation and help you shift your attention away from stress. Try it and see what you notice.
  3. Begin and end each day with gratitude. Every morning, identify three things you’re grateful for. Before bed, identify three more. They don’t have to be extraordinary. A good cup of coffee, a conversation with someone you love, a beautiful sunset, or simply having another day to learn and grow all count.

Make this ritual your own. The intention is to create a regular moment of peace, mindfulness, and appreciation amid the changes happening around you.

Remember: You don’t have to wait for the world to become calmer before you cultivate calm within yourself.

Bringing It All Together

We may be living through a defining chapter in human history. Astrology can help us explore the themes of this era, but it doesn’t dictate our destiny or guarantee specific world events. Our choices, preparation, and responses matter.

You don’t have to fear the future to prepare for it. Stay curious, strengthen your foundations, nurture your spiritual well-being, and remember that even small daily practices can help you approach life with greater intention.

You may not control the changes taking place in the world, but you can choose how you meet them.
