Have you ever wondered what invisible forces guide your beliefs and experiences? Today marks the end of the Pisces season, making it fitting to explore its core theme: I believe. Inspired by George Harrison’s song My Sweet Lord, this reflection invites us to consider our human longing to know and connect with the invisible realm of the Creator. George’s lyrics beautifully express the desire to experience something beyond the material world.
Even if you don’t know much about astrology readings, psychic experiences, or intuition, the main idea is simple: unseen forces shape our lives. When we begin to pay attention to these subtle energies, we often discover a deeper sense of meaning and connection. This idea sits at the heart of the Pisces season.
To ground our exploration, consider Webster’s Dictionary definition of metaphysics: “the branch of philosophy dealing with first principles, including abstract concepts such as being, knowing, substance, cause, identity, time, and space. The question of the universe’s origins belongs to metaphysics or religion.”
To further clarify, meta means beyond, and physics refers to the physical world. Metaphysics, therefore, explores what lies beyond the physical—the invisible and non-physical realm that Pisces symbolizes. What we cannot see but can sense often holds tremendous power, as revealed in experiences such as addiction, unexplained emotions, intuition, and music.
Pisces’ key phrase, “I believe,” highlights this season’s central message. It encourages you to notice and trust what cannot be seen. I’ll share some of my own experiences with the invisible world; energies and realms beyond our ordinary senses, that have shaped my life. My hope is to show how believing in the unseen can also guide you.
Since childhood I experienced abilities I didn’t fully understand: a sense of knowing, premonitions, head-tapping to sense others’ intentions, and prophetic dreams that sometimes frightened me. The list goes on. For many years I felt odd and misunderstood, only later realizing that I possessed psychic and mediumistic abilities.
One example occurred when I was about four years old. My dad called on the phone, and I answered. He asked to speak with my mom. As he was asking for her, she picked up the extension phone from her bedroom. I overheard my dad ask my mom, “What is the mortgage amount?” She replied, “Hold on, let me get the amount for you.”
After my mom put the phone down to look it up, I told my dad, “I have the amount,” and I gave it to him. Just as I finished, my mom picked up the extension phone again and told my dad that she now had the exact mortgage amount. She then gave him the number, which was the exact same amount I had just told him.
My dad said to my mom, “Ev just gave me the amount.” My mom replied, “That’s impossible. She’s nowhere near me and has no way of knowing that information.”
They were both quite shocked and speechless. That moment raised the first awareness that something unusual might be happening with my perception and abilities. Unfortunately, I didn’t have a coach or mentor to help me understand it.
When I was twelve, a visit to the local library introduced me to astrology, my first love. My curiosity about the paranormal and all forms of metaphysics never faded. Even today, anything mysterious or unexplained still captures my attention. Today I enjoy helping others explore these cosmic patterns through learning astrology.
That same curiosity eventually guided my career into the medical field, where I worked from 1978 to 2000. In that environment, working in laboratories and morgues, I encountered many experiences that blurred the line between the practical and the mystical. Extrasensory perceptions and unexplainable phenomena became part of my journey toward becoming a professional metaphysician.
After years of studying and practicing astrology, I realized my psychic and mediumistic abilities could serve people on a broader community level through psychic medium readings.
These experiences first helped me understand the physical reality of death; only then could I begin exploring its spiritual dimension. Through this process, I came to see the body as something like a coat worn by the soul or spirit within, a temporary garment that houses us for a time. In other words, we are spirits inhabiting a physical body, rather than bodies that merely possess a spirit.
Reflecting on this journey provides important context for understanding the relationship between the physical and invisible worlds, especially in matters of life and death. If death represents both an ending and a beginning, then it signals transformation, an idea closely associated with Scorpio and Pluto, which I’ll explore in a future astrology blog.
From there, a natural question arises: what about existence before birth? Astrology offers an interesting perspective. The twelfth house, the domain of Pisces and Neptune, is mysterious, nebulous, and closely connected with the divine. In this realm, the idea emerges that a higher source or light exists.
Before birth, you have no physical body. You exist as a soul, part of the greater creation, a spark of divine light. That is the essence of our being.
This perspective reinforces the central theme of unseen influence: you exist physically because of an invisible metaphysical impulse guiding your soul’s lessons. Many traditions teach that while physical life eventually ends, the soul continues. What we call intuition may simply be the voice of the soul, our inner compass. In animals, we call this instinct.
The question then becomes: how can we strengthen this connection?
Many teachers suggest beginning with intention. Ask God for guidance. Author, psychologist, and spiritual teacher, Wayne Dyer encouraged people to cultivate love, gratitude, and abundance. Spend a few quiet minutes in silence. Write down your questions. Step outside and surround yourself with nature, the trees, birds, sunlight, and fresh air. Breathe slowly and deeply. These simple actions help calm the mind and open us to a deeper connection with the divine. Allow whatever impressions arise to come naturally, don’t force them or filter them.
God is the Spirit of Truth. In the 1800s, French professor, Allan Kardec conducted extensive scientific research on spirit communication and concluded that consciousness continues after physical death. He also warned that not all spirits bring clarity or wisdom.
Developing non-physical awareness is much like strengthening a muscle, it grows with practice. You can start with small exercises. For example, try giving a simple command: “Show me a white elephant within 24 hours.” Then wait and observe. Perhaps the image appears in an advertisement, on television, online, or even in the mail. Often answers appear through synchronicities, subtle but meaningful coincidences that seem almost magical.
As you begin to notice these moments, you may realize that unseen influences are quietly present in everyday life.
To make the invisible world more relatable, consider familiar examples. Microorganisms such as bacteria and viruses cannot be seen with the naked eye, yet they profoundly affect human health. In a similar way, invisible energies may influence our spiritual and emotional lives.
Electricity offers another example. We cannot see electricity flowing through wires, yet we clearly observe its effects. Lightning alone releases enormous amounts of energy and heat. When I say “spirit is electrical,” I’m speaking metaphorically and literally about the powerful invisible energy that connects all living things. Spirit is energy, like a spark of electricity. It’s part of God, the creator.
Water, interestingly, conducts electricity. Many people find that being near water; oceans, rivers, or lakes, helps them feel more spiritually receptive and connected.
These examples remind us that not everything real is visible.
In summary, the message of Pisces season invites us to embrace our connection to the unseen. By raising our awareness and practicing stillness, our connection to the invisible grows stronger. In turn, this deepens our intuition, guidance, and sense of meaning in everyday life.
Trust the journey. Honor the lessons of your soul. What you cannot see may guide you more profoundly than what you can.
