Cancer, the Moon, Intuition, and the Great Cosmic Shift: Are We Living Through a Turning Point in Human Evolution?
July is a pivotal month in our human evolution.
Astrologers around the world have been watching and waiting for this period in history for decades. Never before in our lifetime have we experienced this particular combination of planetary alignments occurring simultaneously. As someone who has spent over five decades studying astrology and observing cosmic cycles, I can tell you that we are entering a period of profound change.
In many ways, this story began when Pluto entered Aquarius.
Pluto is often associated with tiny things that create massive changes. Think about the atoms that power an atomic bomb, or the microscopic union of an egg and sperm that creates the potential for human life. Pluto operates on a cycle of approximately 250 years and symbolizes deep transformation, endings, permanent changes, and the dismantling of old structures to make room for something entirely new.
Since Pluto entered Aquarius, many people have observed dramatic shifts in society. The COVID pandemic changed our world in ways we had never experienced before. Beyond the health crisis itself, it also sparked widespread debates about authority, truth, trust, government institutions, and the information we receive. Whether one agrees or disagrees with various viewpoints, one thing is certain: many people began questioning systems they had previously taken for granted.
And now, the cosmic picture becomes even more fascinating.
The Outer Planets Are Creating a Rare Cosmic Pattern
The three outermost planets—Pluto, Neptune, and Uranus—are currently moving through the zodiac in a rare supportive relationship to one another, approximately 60 degrees apart. These planets represent collective, generational, and evolutionary themes.
To add even more intensity, Mars, the warrior planet, joins forces with Uranus, the planet of surprises, breakthroughs, rebellion, and sudden events.
Think of it this way:
- Uranus is like a bolt of lightning—raw, natural, unexpected energy.
- Mars is like fireworks—intentional, explosive, and action-oriented.
One force is natural. The other is man-made. Together, they create a fascinating and potentially volatile combination.
Many astrologers have speculated that these types of planetary combinations can coincide with periods of conflict, upheaval, or rapid change. But if we’re honest, humanity has always experienced wars and conflicts. Perhaps conflict itself is part of our collective lesson here on Earth.
Will we ever find peace?
I believe we will—but only when we first find peace within ourselves.
Are We More Divided Than Ever?
If you spend any time on social media, watch the news, or listen to public discourse, it can feel like humanity is increasingly divided. People attack one another because of differing beliefs, values, politics, lifestyles, and worldviews.
Add artificial intelligence into the mix and we find ourselves asking even deeper questions:
- What is truth?
- How do we know what is real?
- Are we being manipulated?
- Are we being distracted from what truly matters?
Many people are questioning institutions, governments, corporations, and systems that they once trusted. Whether these questions lead to revelation, reform, or something entirely different remains to be seen.
A Month Filled With Cancer Energy
Against this backdrop of powerful outer-planet activity, July brings us back to something deeply personal: our emotions.
This month we experience:
- A Full Moon in Capricorn opposite the Sun in Cancer
- A New Moon in Cancer
- Mercury retrograde in Cancer for approximately three weeks
That’s a tremendous amount of Cancer energy.
Cancer is a cardinal water sign and represents feminine, receptive energy. Like its symbol, the crab, Cancer often appears hard and protective on the outside while remaining extraordinarily sensitive and vulnerable on the inside.
Cardinal signs initiate and begin things. Cancer initiates through emotion, intuition, nurturing, and care.
Cancer energy is:
- Emotional
- Sensitive
- Protective
- Caring
- Nurturing
- Family-oriented
- Highly intuitive
Cancer individuals and Cancer energy tend to trust their gut feelings. Emotions are often their compass. They can feel things deeply and sometimes take experiences very personally.
Logic isn’t always the priority.
Feeling is.
The Moon: Our Emotional Compass
Cancer is ruled by the Moon.
The Moon represents:
- Emotions
- Feelings
- Our inner world
- Mother and nurturing energy
- Memory
- Instinct
- Intuition
Interestingly, the Moon produces no light of its own. It reflects light.
Perhaps there is a lesson there for all of us.
Sometimes our emotional experiences reflect back to us what already exists within us.
Are We Witnessing a Once-in-Humanity Shift?
As a veteran astrologer who has studied cosmic cycles for decades, I believe we are moving through a period of extraordinary transformation.
Can anyone predict exactly what will happen?
No.
But the potential impact of these planetary cycles feels enormous.
So let’s engage in a little Neptune-inspired imagination.
What if extraterrestrial life became publicly acknowledged and accepted?
How would that change our understanding of ourselves?
What if large institutions, governments, corporations, or organized religions underwent profound transformation or dissolution?
What if humanity returned to ancient wisdom, natural healing practices, spiritual teachings, and forgotten philosophies?
What if human consciousness evolved in ways we currently consider impossible?
What if telepathy became commonplace?
What if psychic abilities expanded dramatically?
What if communicating with those who have passed became widely accepted?
What if our future included living beyond Earth itself?
These possibilities may sound like science fiction today. Yet every revolutionary idea throughout history was once considered impossible.
How Will These Cosmic Changes Affect You?
While these planetary movements affect humanity collectively, most people want to know:
