Never Before Such a Powerful Mercury Retrograde

Never Before Such a Powerful Mercury Retrograde

Mercury retrograde, often viewed with dread, is not a time of fear and despair but a period of understanding and growth. In this post, you’ll delve into the essence of a retrograde, how it can positively influence you, and the steps you can take to harness its potential benefits.

Mercury is the planet that represents communication, intelligence, and socialability. Its archetype is the messenger god, who speedily travels to exchange goods or news. Mercury travels around the sun quicker than the sun. Mercury is a personal planet representing how you think, communicate, and gather data. To name a few keywords, it could represent computers, the internet, books, authors, teachers, language, and curiosity. Mercury is the ruler of two zodiac signs: Gemini, an air sign, and Virgo, an earth sign.

Understanding your natal chart is critical. It reveals the sign your Mercury is in. The planets are the players in your chart, and the signs describe their actions: slow, fast, methodical, or scattered. It’s crucial to note if you were born with a Mercury retrograde in your natal chart. Why? Individuals born with a Mercury retrograde are more comfortable with a transiting Mercury retrograde. They are more at ease with its retrograde energy; they may naturally review and reconsider information throughout their lives. They may read a magazine from the back and then from the front. Everyone is unique; however, how they manifest their planetary energies is fascinating and worth exploring.

If you want to know how the transit of this coming Mercury retrograde will impact you, you need to take out your natal chart and see exactly where it will travel in your natal chart. As a reminder, the natal chart doesn’t change. Planets move or transit through the zodiac constellations in the sky. On August 5, Mercury will be in one of its ruling signs, Virgo, intensifying the energies. With Mercury retrograde in the sign of Virgo, we can expect detailed information or communication. We can see a systematic approach to learning. It could represent teaching and training with a specific system and organized sequential steps. It’s at 4° Virgo and will return to 21° Leo on August 28. As Mercury travels through Virgo back into Leo, you’ll feel the energy of communication shift from the slow, methodical pace to the quick, exciting, firey pace of Leo. Look at your natal chart to see where 4° Virgo to 21° Leo lies in your chart. This is the area of life you’ll be impacted most. It will impact my natal Moon and my natal Pluto and Jupiter. Let’s see how that plays out.

These generalized readings on the internet may not pertain to you personally because the transits impact specific areas in your natal chart. If you have planets or cusps in the Mercury retrograde path, it will indicate further clues on how Mercury will affect you. The retrograde season for any planet is a time to go inward by meditating, praying, being alone, reading, and being introverted. This ‘retrograde season’ refers to a period when multiple planets appear to move backward in the sky, which astrologically is a time for introspection and reflection. For the record, at this time, we have a total of five planets retrograde. I have chosen to cut back on my extroverted energies of posting regularly on social media, tap into my God, angels, and spirit of truth, and surround myself with nature. On August 4, we had a new moon in 12° Leo, setting the latest cycle in a playful and loving time. Look at your natal chart to see precisely what house that is in. If you need my help, text 757-513-7771 or visit my website to schedule a Forecast Reading.

Now for the part you’ve all been waiting for. How to survive a Mercury retrograde? First, you may not get impacted if the transit isn’t hitting a planet or essential point in your natal chart. It’s a time to reflect and review your thoughts and how you gather information. It may be a time to think about whatever areas Virgo is in. You may decide to change your health routines or any service you provide. The houses Mercury travels through will give you more clues on what areas of life may be affected. Since Virgo is an earth sign, I recommend you surround yourself with nature and read or meditate. Hold your crystals and put intentions in them, especially with the new Moon in Leo. Find your inner child and place your intentions on love, your heart, and creativity. Merge the energies of Mercury and the new Moon to work together. Remember, the new Moon is the sun and Moon, blending their energies, a balance of the yin and yang of your life. For instance, you can use this time to re-evaluate your communication style or to revisit past projects with a fresh perspective.
