The end of October invites us to look beneath the surface, question what we think we know, and discover what may be holding us back. Are you ready to reclaim your power?
Have you ever felt stuck in the same patterns, asking yourself why you keep repeating the same behaviors, making the same choices, or struggling to move forward?
I know that feeling well. For years, I searched for answers to help me understand myself when life became overwhelming. I studied my astrology birth chart, read every metaphysical book I could find, took classes, and sought out psychics to help me gain clarity.
What I discovered changed the way I understood myself and my life.
Sometimes, the answers we need aren’t found by looking outside ourselves. They’re found by having the courage to look within.
And the astrology unfolding at the end of October offers us a powerful opportunity to do just that.
Four Planetary Events, One Invitation: Look Within
As we move through Scorpio season, four major astrological influences invite us to examine our inner world:
- Scorpio season: Explore the psychological patterns, hidden motivations, and emotional truths that influence your decisions.
- Mercury retrograde: Reconsider how you think, communicate, process information, and interpret your experiences.
- Venus retrograde moving back into Libra: Reevaluate your relationships, personal values, self-worth, and what truly matters to you.
- The Full Moon at 2° Taurus: Examine your relationship with money, possessions, security, comfort, and your willingness to embrace change.
Together, these astrological themes encourage us to pause and ask some important questions.
What are you holding onto because it feels safe, even though it no longer serves you?
What beliefs about yourself are keeping you from moving forward?
And what might happen if you finally let go?
Your Astrology Birth Chart: The Owner’s Manual You Were Never Given
One of the most valuable discoveries of my life was learning how to interpret my astrology birth chart.
Your natal chart is your personal astrological blueprint, calculated from the date, time, and place of your birth. I often think of it as an owner’s manual for understanding yourself.
It can offer insight into your natural strengths, challenges, emotional needs, communication style, relationship patterns, and the motivations behind your choices.
It doesn’t dictate your future. It helps you understand your potential.
Your birth chart never changes, but you can change how you respond to what it reveals.
That’s where free will comes in. You are not destined to repeat the same mistakes or remain trapped in the same circumstances. Greater self-awareness gives you the opportunity to make different choices.
And here’s something fascinating: every month, as the Moon travels through the zodiac, it activates different parts of your natal chart. These changing lunar influences offer recurring opportunities to reflect on your emotional needs and responses.
Astrology isn’t simply about knowing your Sun sign. It’s about understanding the intricate relationship between the planets, signs, houses, and aspects that make your chart uniquely yours.
The more you understand your personal blueprint, the better equipped you are to recognize your patterns and make conscious decisions.
The Taurus Full Moon: What Is Your Comfort Zone Costing You?
Taurus is associated with stability, material resources, personal values, and the comforts that help us feel secure.
There’s nothing wrong with wanting financial stability or enjoying the things you’ve worked hard to acquire. But what happens when the desire for security becomes a reason to resist necessary change?
Sometimes, we become so attached to what we have that we lose sight of what we could become.
This Full Moon invites you to examine your relationship with money, possessions, and your sense of self-worth.
Are you staying in a financial rut because trying something new feels too risky?
Are you holding onto possessions you no longer need because you fear not having enough?
Are you sacrificing new opportunities because your current circumstances feel familiar?
And what are you giving up by refusing to change?
People with strong Taurus placements may feel particularly protective of their possessions and resources. If that’s you, you may recognize the instinct to hold tightly to what belongs to you. You might even be wise to think twice before lending something precious to someone who may not treat it with the same care!
But beneath that protective instinct lies a deeper question: Where does healthy self-protection end, and where does fear begin?
The Scorpio Sun opposing the Taurus Full Moon brings the themes of holding on and letting go into focus.
Scorpio encourages us to examine the psychological roots of our attachments, while Taurus asks us to consider what truly provides lasting security.
Sometimes, what we fear losing is not the possession, relationship, or financial position itself. It’s the feeling of control we associate with it.
This is an opportunity to release outdated beliefs, examine your need for control, and make room for a healthier relationship with your resources and your own worth.
You don’t have to give everything away or abandon your comfort zone. You simply need to recognize when your comfort zone has become a cage.
Mercury Retrograde: Rethink the Way You Think
Mercury retrograde gets a bad reputation, but I believe it can be an excellent time to slow down and reconsider how we process information.
How do you talk to yourself?
Do you automatically expect the worst?
Do you replay conversations, overanalyze decisions, or worry about making mistakes?
Are you listening to understand, or preparing your response before someone else has finished speaking?
Mercury retrograde encourages us to review, reconsider, and reflect rather than rushing into every decision.
With the grounded influence of Taurus and the psychological depth of Scorpio emphasized during this period, consider giving yourself permission to slow down.
Listen to your intuition. Question your assumptions. Revisit an idea you’ve dismissed too quickly.
You don’t have to act on every thought the moment it appears.
Sometimes, the wisest decision is to wait until you have a clearer understanding of what you really want.
Venus Retrograde: What Do You Truly Value?
As Venus retrogrades back into Libra, relationships, harmony, personal values, and self-worth become important areas for reflection.
Are your relationships reciprocal?
Do you compromise so much that you lose sight of your own needs?
Are you seeking approval from others instead of trusting your own judgment?
Do your choices reflect what you genuinely value, or what you believe other people expect of you?
These questions can be uncomfortable, but discomfort isn’t always a sign that something is wrong. Sometimes, it means you’re finally paying attention to something that needs to change.
Self-worth isn’t about proving yourself to everyone around you. It’s about recognizing your value even when you make mistakes, change your mind, or choose a path others don’t understand.
And that brings me to one of the most important lessons I’ve learned in my own life.
My Biggest Obstacle Was Fear of Failure
For much of my life, I struggled with the fear of getting things wrong.
That fear created a need to be right. I worried about making mistakes, disappointing myself, and taking risks without knowing exactly how things would turn out.
The result?
Analysis paralysis.
I could spend so much time researching, thinking, and weighing every possible outcome that I ended up doing nothing at all.
Looking back, I realize how many opportunities I may have missed because I was waiting for certainty that never came.
Sometimes, not taking the risk was more costly than making a mistake would have been.
I had to learn that free will means having the power to choose, but it also means accepting that we cannot control every outcome.
We can study, prepare, seek guidance, and listen to our intuition. But eventually, we have to make a decision and allow ourselves to learn from the experience.
You don’t need to be fearless to move forward. You need to be willing to move forward even when fear is present.
What would you attempt today if you no longer needed a guarantee of success?
That’s a question worth sitting with during this Scorpio season.
My Journey Into Metaphysics: From Feeling Different to Finding My Purpose
My journey into astrology and metaphysics began when I was a child. I was fascinated by the subjects most people around me didn’t seem interested in discussing.
I spent decades reading books, attending classes, researching, and seeking teachers who could help me understand astrology, psychic abilities, and mediumship.
There was one enormous challenge: finding people with whom I could share these interests openly.
For much of my life, having these abilities and this thirst for knowledge felt lonely. I was sometimes viewed as a weirdo or made fun of because of my interests and experiences.
I didn’t have the wealth of information, online communities, educational resources, or access to mentors that people can find today.
So I kept searching.
I kept studying.
And I kept asking questions.
Over time, my experiences and education helped me develop a deeper understanding of astrology and the metaphysical world. Today, I’m proud to share what I’ve learned through my readings, classes, books, social media, and educational resources.
What once made me feel different has become a meaningful part of my life’s work.
That’s why I care so deeply about helping others understand themselves.
You shouldn’t have to spend a lifetime searching for answers that could help you make sense of your experiences. And you shouldn’t feel ashamed of your curiosity about astrology or metaphysics.
Knowledge can empower you. Self-awareness can change your perspective. And understanding your personal patterns can help you make choices that better reflect who you are and who you want to become.
If my journey has taught me anything, it’s that the things we struggle to understand about ourselves can become the very things that help us guide and encourage others.
Psychic Readings, Intuition, and Your Free Will
I’ve also learned a great deal from seeking psychic readings.
When I receive a reading, I believe the reader may be picking up on aspects of my energy and bringing forward information that resonates with something deep within me.
Sometimes, hearing a message spoken aloud brings a realization into focus. Other times, I may hear something and immediately discover that I feel differently about it than I expected.
And that’s okay!
A reading can offer a new perspective, but it should never take away your right to choose.
I encourage people to reflect on what they’ve heard rather than rushing into action. Give yourself time to consider the message, determine what resonates, and decide what feels appropriate for your life.
You don’t have to accept every interpretation or act on every suggestion.
You are the captain of your own ship.
Astrology, psychic readings, and other metaphysical practices can be tools for reflection and self-discovery. They should support your judgment, not replace it.
Your free will remains yours.
Your Scorpio Season Self-Reflection Exercise
Take a little time for yourself during this powerful period of reflection. Find a quiet space, grab your journal, and answer these questions honestly.
- What am I holding onto? Identify a belief, habit, possession, relationship pattern, or fear that may be keeping you stuck.
- Where am I afraid to change? Is your resistance protecting something valuable, or keeping you from an opportunity?
- What does security mean to me? Is it money, possessions, approval, predictability, or trust in yourself?
- How does my thinking influence my choices? Notice whether fear, self-criticism, or overanalysis is making your decisions for you.
- What would I do if I trusted myself more? Identify one small step you could take without needing to know the entire outcome.
- What am I ready to release? Choose one outdated belief or pattern you are willing to begin working on.
Don’t pressure yourself to solve everything in one sitting. The goal is awareness, not perfection.
You may discover that the very thing you’ve been trying so hard to control is the thing you most need to understand.
And remember: reflection is the beginning. Your choices are what create change.

A Final Thought
Scorpio season asks us to look beneath the surface. Mercury retrograde encourages us to rethink. Venus retrograde invites us to reconsider what we value. And the Taurus Full Moon reminds us that security and growth don’t always require holding on tighter.
Sometimes, reclaiming your power begins with letting go.
Let go of the need to be perfect. Let go of the belief that you must have every answer before taking the first step. Let go of the idea that your past determines your future.
Your birth chart doesn’t change, but you can change how you work with it.
You have choices. You have free will. And you have the ability to learn more about yourself every day.
The question is: What are you ready to change?
